Rachel Field Biography

Rachel Field (1894-1942), American writer of children's books, poetry, plays, and novels, born in New York City. She is best known for her children's books, including Hitty, Her First Hundred Years (1929) and Calico Bush (1931). She also wrote poetry, plays, and adult novels, including All This and Heaven Too (1938), which was made into a motion picture in 1940.
