The health field is booming right now. No matter how bad the economy gets you have life you have sickness. It will always be a part of life. These are some of the things that I considered when I was looking in for my future. You are almost half afraid to pick the wrong decision because you can pick on where the job offers are dwindling.
The health field though can not keep enough people. I was not really looking into jumping straight into a four year college degree. I would rather start towards the bottom and work my way up. I looked into programs for certified nurse assistant.
I had quite a few friends who were in the field and they love it. A few went on to get their nursing degree, but quite a few stayed in this job because they loved it so much. You can get a degree partly online. You can become a specialized health technician from these degrees as well.
The cna's duties are not as strict as a certified nurse, but it gives you an inside look of what these health professional jobs consist of. Becoming one of these health professional requires very good people skills and a lot of patience.
With a certified nursing assistant their duties can be somewhat of the messy ones, but if you love working and helping people you wont mind that. Mainly the lpn's jobs are to keep track of the patients blood pressure and to sustain their temperature and comfort. And maybe occasionally bring them some water. Not quite as difficult, but still a good career.
The pay is still good in a lot of these jobs due to the demand of them. Some hospitals even offer the training right inside the hospital and they even pay you to take it.
Many high schools offer classes ahead of time that are worth college credits. They offer the smaller classes like medical terminology to get you prepared for the bigger classes once you go to college.
Becoming a health professional in this day and age is a good career choice. Health is a forever growing process. New things and cure options come out everyday and as long as there are still diseases and sicknesses without cures there will always be the room for improvement and the need for care. Our elderly are the ones who will need the most care no matter what. It's worth the while to look into programs for certified nurse assistants.
